Polar Bear Video Evaluation

Last week in technology the class watched my infomercial on global warming and polar bears. I think they enjoyed it although some information was boring to read. This is my evaluation on my video and the whole unit of global warming.

A) Investigate

For investigation we watched a documentary on global warming in class. After this I decided what my project was going to be about, did research and wrote my design brief. I think I did a lot of research but my design brief was too long and it didn't really answer the questions. I also made design specifications and they were satisfiable. Next time on the design brief I could focus more on the criteria.

B) Design

For design I made a storyboard of my video which showed all the scenes of my movie and details of animations, sound effects etc. I think my storyboard was well done and I had included what music I was going to use. To make it better I could have drawn out the slides and written more detail on what exactly I was going to say.

C) Plan

For plan I made a tabel showing how I would use my time, equipment and all the steps of making my movie. This also included changes which could be made during the process. I think my plan was ok because I didn't really go into depth on the resources and other equipment and I might have missed some steps. Next time I could make more changes and details.

D) Create

For create I created my infomercial on Movie Maker. When I was making it I followed my plan and storyboard and also made changes where necessary. I think I used my time wisely and I got my project done in time. I didn't always follow my storyboard and next time I could make a final storyboard that I would follow totally.

E) Evaluate

When I made design secifications I wrote that 90 % should agree with each one. This was for my test. I asked ten people what they thought of my video. Here are the results:

Do you think my video was informative?: 10/10

Do you think it was interesting?: 10/10

Did it have enough good pictures?: 9/10

Do you think we should help polar bears?: 10/10

I asked: Vanessa, Tsetse, Seo E, Justine, Mathias, Jun Woo, Aha Yeong, Anudari, Tiffany, Justin.
I think my video was very informative and people learned something from it. Many also thought that it was interesting because I was the only one who filmed themselves for the video. I had enough pictures and people said that my video was convincing. To make my video better I could have added video transitions and other animations to make it more interesting. I could also have cut some information that is not that relevant to the topic.
I think this unit was very important because we learned about global warming. One of the purposes for making our infomercials was to make people more aware of what's happening and what can we do to help the environment. If you make a very persuasive video and post it in the internet it may have a very strong impact. The society could start helping the environment thanks to your video.
